Monaco offers an important number of hotels to the tourists coming from all over the world. Five five star hotels, namely the renowned Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo owned be the “Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) with its famous restaurant “Louis XV” managed by the chef Alain Ducasse, a must for the gourmets from all over the world.

The Hotel Hermitage also belongs to the SBM. This magnificent edifice in the “Belle Epoque” style with its glass construction and winter garden was built by Gustave Eiffel and is classified as a historical monument.

The Hotel Metropole Monte Carlo has recently been refurbished by Jacques Garcia. It hosts the restaurant Joël Robuchon Monte Carlo which is run by one of his disciples, Christophe Cussac.

Amongst the luxury hotels figures the Fairmont Hotel, the European flagship of the American hotel chain.

The Méridien Beach Plaza is the only hotel with a private sand beach and its convention centre, the Monte Carlo Sea Club.

The Port Palace Hotel, located in the Port Hercule, offers from its terrace an incomparable view on the Beau Rivage gradient and is one of the most privileged places to follow the Formula One Grand Prix of Monaco.

In another category, the Columbus Hotel located in the quarter of Fontvieille (built on an area taken from the sea), is one of the best hotels in Monaco. It has a superb design and its decoration is hold in a very modern style.

Access to the Principality of Monaco The Principality of Monaco is in the south of France on the French Riviera, few kilometers from the Italian border. It is nearly 20 kilometers east of Nice and 10 kilometers west of Menton.

To get there you have many ways :

• By plane : arrival at Nice Cote d'Azur International Airport then taxi, helicopter or limousine to reach Monaco.
• By the highway : gate Monaco coming from Nice or gate Roquebrune Cap Martin coming from Menton.
• By road, you can take the sea side road and cross Villefranche sur mer, Beaulieu sur mer, Eze and Cap d'Ail coming from Nice or Roquebrune Cap Martin coming from Menton.
• By train : Monaco is on the International line that links Nice to Ventimiglia. Stop at Monaco Monte Carlo train station.
• By bus : line 100 links Nice to Menton crosses Monaco every 15 minutes during the week.
• By boat : Monaco has 2 harbours : Port Hercule - Port de Fontvieille. With a terminal for Cruises
