La Chapelle Saint Hospice was built in the eleventh century on the ruins of a sanctuary. Inside you can admire paintings by Louis Marchand des Raux that trace the life and miracles of St. Hospice. The Virgin in bronze (11m40 high) beside the chapel was built in 1904 at the request of a rich merchant from Nice after the completion of a vow. The Belgian Cemetery located below the chapel took this name for the Belgian victims of World War I that died at the Cedars Villa then turned into a military hospital and property of Belgian King Leopold II.
In Italian Renaissance style, the palace brings together all styles and all eras with various influences. The Villa is surrounded by nine themed gardens and overlooks the bay of Villefranche sur Mer and Beaulieu sur Mer. The show of musical fountains which animates the French garden every 20 minutes, accentuates the enchanting aspect of the place.
